The early calendars, based on the movements of the moon, can tell us a lot about the world around us. Farming calendars, in particular, are great for predicting the best times to deal with pests in the garden, when to plant, and when to reap.
As we move into Leo, remember that Leo is considered a barren sign. In the high heat, plants aren’t flowering, so the Lion Moon on July 5th makes a great time to pluck the weeds from your lawn and deal with any unwanted pests that can sabotage crops.
Another great time for pest control is when the moon is in Virgo. The Virgo moon has passed for this year, but if, like most gardeners, you are planning ahead, look to early March of 2021 to sweep out the pests when you start your spring cleaning.
In deep winter, at the start of the new year, is another great time to clean the house from top to bottom, and that includes getting rid of mice and other creatures that may have crept into your attic to escape the cold.
