Geminis love to talk, often about themselves. He may not be great with words, or inspiring speeches, but Trump is the master of the easy to remember slogan, or phrase to rile up his base.
Geminis are also chameleons, so even though they seem to contradict themselves, they can easily convince people that they are on their side, and that they are speaking directly to each member of the audience. It’s very clear that the two sides of the aisle see Trump in very different ways.
He is highly competitive, and wants the spotlight all of the time, reflecting the two fire signs in his nature. He has no problem demanding and keeping attention.
