We’re all trying to find ways to pass the time and keep our spirits up right now. While some of us are going the DIY route, there’s no more effective way to kill time while social distancing than video games. These immersive worlds will take your mind off the news–and many of them have multiplayer or online options that let you connect with people from the safety of your living room.
Aries (March 21-April 19)
Obviously, ultra-competitive Aries is all about the “Call of Duty” franchise. Fast-paced and action-packed, the games in this series will get your adrenaline pumping. Plus, if you have a headset or microphone, you can talk trash with other players.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
“Stardew Valley” is one of the best-loved indie games in history for good reason. Although it might seem like just a farming sim at first, the more you play, the more you discover the rich storyline baked into every character. As an Earth sign, you’ll legitimately love the farming aspect, too.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
Open-world, sandbox-style games are great for Gemini because you’ll never get bored. On the other hand, a world that’s too open can make you feel directionless and overwhelmed. That’s why “Skyrim” or the related game “Elder Scrolls Online” is the perfect pick for you. There are plenty of ways to play, from slaying dragons to perfecting your crafting skills.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
To be honest, everyone is loving “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” right now. The game is adorable, wholesome and totally relaxing. You’ll feel so much better after chilling out on your island with all those cute animals.
Leo (July 23-August 22)
Social distancing can be especially tough for a Leo, since you thrive on being around people. Luckily, technology makes it possible to have game night while everyone is stuck at home. “Jackbox Party Pack,” currently on volume three, lets your friends play along with you on their phones.
Virgo (August 23-September 22)
Video games aren’t all about shooting your enemies or collecting creatures. Building games such as “Cities: Skylines” will keep you engrossed for hours as you create and manage your own personal metropolis. There are a ton of downloadable expansions to the game as well, so you won’t be running out of cities to build anytime soon.
Libra (September 23-October 22)
Let’s get old-school, Libra. I mean really, really old-school. If you ask gamers to name their top ten titles of all time, chances are good that a lot of them will name “Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.” Sure, it looks a little dated now, but you’ll love how the choices you make affect your alignment and move the story forward.
Scorpio (October 23-November 21)
When it comes to gaming, Scorpio wants blood, drama, and scares. But done in a tasteful way, you know? That’s why “The Witcher 3” is the best choice for you to pick up during quarantine. It’s engaging, gorgeous, and one of the top-rated games ever.
Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)
Sagittarius just wants to have fun, preferably with your buddies. Pizza is optional but encouraged. That’s why a fun, team-based shooter like “Overwatch” is such a great choice of video game for you. You can jump into a match, have some fun, and connect with other people through Discord or another chat service.
Capricorn (December 23-January 20)
For Capricorn, it’s tough to beat the classics. “World of Warcraft” has been around since 2004, and it’s still going strong. The MMORPG (that’s massively multiplayer online role-playing game, if you’re new) is a quest-based system that lets you level up and upgrade your gear–something that appeals to Capricorn’s dedication to working hard.
Aquarius (January 20-February 18)
For free-spirited Aquarius, an open-world sandbox-like “Minecraft” can be endlessly entertaining. The massively popular game is available on a computer as well as a tablet or phone, so you can play when you want and how you want. There’s even a multiplayer option if you want to hang out with other people.
Pisces (February 19-March 20)
Pisces generally isn’t a big fan of violence, even when it’s just in a video game. However, you do love drama and creating complicated soap operas, which is why you can’t go wrong with “The Sims.” This classic game is currently on version four, and it’s better than ever.
