Chinese Astrology: What ‘The Year of the Pig’ Means

The Pig is the twelfth of the zodiac animals in Chinese astrology. In Chinese culture, pigs are viewed as the symbol of wealth and are blessed with good fortune and life. Even their plump faces and big ears are considered to be further signs of fortune.

The Pig is also associated with the Earthly Branch and the hours between 9 and 11 p.m. In terms of yin and yang, the Pig is yin.

Pig personality traits

Pigs are regarded as having a beautiful personality. There enthusiastic and energetic, even in mundane jobs or foreign situations. However, anytime they are given the opportunity, they quickly take hold of positions of status and power. It is their belief that people in positions of power hold status that earns them the right to speak.
