My Sign Says

Autumn Is Here and So Is Harmonious Libra

Just as the Autumnal equinox balances out our nights and days, so Libra brings balance to everything it touches. We may feel a bit volatile with all the squares and oppositions happening in the sky today, but thankfully Libra is here to bring some peace and harmony into our lives.

Mercury Is Square Pluto at 5:18 AM

Early this morning, Mercury in Libra moves square of Pluto in Capricorn. This transit can be challenging at times. However, it is actually one of the rare times when a square is a more positive transit.

Normally a square between ambivalent Libra and arrogant Capricorn can cause us to be a bit thoughtless or neglectful. But thankfully, the communicative energy of Mercury and the willful energy of Mars allow us to be perceptive and eager. Though we must be careful not to overestimate our own abilities or self-importance. We don’t want to make careless mistakes.

The Sun Enters Libra at 3:12 PM

This afternoon, the sun officially leaves Virgo and moves into the sign of Libra. This transition is marked by the Autumn Equinox, when the day and night are of equal lengths. Which makes sense, because Libra is all about balance.

It also places an emphasis on diplomacy in our interactions. That emphasis on peace and harmony might have you wanting to cut anything (or anyone) out of your life that doesn’t contribute to that cause. Drama and toxicity clash with Libra’s peace-loving ways.

It is possible to get too caught up in the pursuit of fairness and balance during Libra season, though, and that can lead to indecision and stalled momentum.

It’s not all negative, though. After the critical and analytical nature of Virgo season, Libra brings in a fresh and flirtatious energy. She’s ruled by Venus, after all—the planet of love and beauty. Keep an eye on the themes of balance and justice over the next month, but give yourself space to revel in the beauty around you too. Or introduce some.

It could be a fun time to take some risks with your hair, your fashion, or your decor. And no matter how complicated the state of the world has made things, don’t discount the possibility of a change to your current situation.

The Moon Is Sextile Jupiter at 7:48 PM

In the evening, the moon in Aries forms a sextile with Jupiter in Aquarius. The energy of the day is shifting. This is a social aspect, and you may be longing for more fun and lighthearted interactions than have been available in the recent past. Luckily, all of that seems to be turning around as of late.

Today, you’ll have an urge to reconnect with old friends and family you’ve lost touch with. It’s a warm and welcoming transit for all relationships in our lives, but specifically those with women.

You’re feeling open, honest, and a bit vulnerable with your feelings. Making new connections will be easy. You’re feeling generous with your time, energy, and resources, and might look for group activities meant to help others.

The Moon Is Square Pluto at 9:29 PM

A couple of hours later, the moon in Aries forms a square with Pluto in grounded Capricorn. This transit causes our impulsiveness to butt up against a bit of introspection, and that can lead to some discomfort.

The moon rules our emotions and when placed in Aries, we can become temperamental. Pluto governs our instincts and self-preservation. When working with Capricorn, it can make us defensive and arrogant. This square may also lead to some compulsive or destructive behavior, so don’t be shocked if long-buried wounds or traumas are pulled to the surface.

It’s quite possible that some of these wounds have to do with family history. These signs in this placement may invite vindictive tendencies. Be on the lookout for emotional power struggles with family members or partners, or reliving past events to feed the grudge monster.

You might wake up in a funk after some uncomfortable dreams. This isn’t fun by any means, but it’s very important not to bury things even further. You need to find a way for that energy to move through you. Talk to a friend, get your thoughts down on paper, or seek out the counsel of a professional. And keep in mind that this is only a temporary transit.

The Moon Is Opposite Mercury at 10:07 PM

As we get ready for bed, the moon in Aries forms an opposition with Mercury in Libra. When the moon faces off with Mercury, two things can happen. One, you’ll be caught up in a war between your thoughts and your emotions. Or two, those energies will combine and open the door to eye-opening discussions and discoveries about your own soul.

Oppositions can be challenging, but they can also hold a mirror up to ourselves and force issues of self-growth. This isn’t a great time for being around a large group of people. It’s more suited to spend time on your own in self-reflection or to be around a trusted friend that will let you talk things out without judgment.
