Get Off the Couch This Weekend with Zodiac-Inspired Workouts

Have you been spending a little too much time on the couch lately? I get it–streaming TV, comfy pants, and takeout can be powerfully soothing. But too much of a good thing will throw your energy patterns out of whack and leave you feeling worse. Get back on track with an exercise routine just for your Zodiac sign!

Just a quick reminder that you should talk to your doctor before trying any new exercise routine.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Two words, Aries: Beast Mode! Let your natural competitiveness turn exercise into a game where the goal is to shatter your personal best. Pick an area that you’d like to work on and then crush it. Can’t decide? You can’t go wrong with burpees.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Did you know that many Crossfit routines can be done in your backyard, garage, or basement? Seriously, you don’t need a subscription to a gym or a bunch of fancy equipment to complete most of the movements in this intense style of workout.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

You’re more likely to maintain an exercise routine if it keeps you entertained or offers an additional benefit. Instead of workout videos, try dance or gymnastics! You’ll learn something new and burn calories.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

The absolute best exercise for Cancerians is yoga. Not only does it tone the body, but it also calms and centers the mind. There are options for every fitness level out there. Beginners and those with limited mobility can even do chair-based yoga.

Leo (July 23-August 22)

Look for a dance-based workout that incorporates the moves from your favorite pop stars. Or just try to master a dance routine on your own! K-pop offers some of the best routines on the planet, but you could also look at old-school Britney for some serious cardio.

Virgo (August 23-September 22)

A long walk, jog, or hike is a great choice for Virgo. You can mull over ideas and get some much-needed exercise at the same time. Just make sure to put your phone away while you exercise.

Libra (September 23-October 22)

Libras are creatures of balance, and they don’t particularly enjoy high-intensity training. A gentle yet challenging form of exercise that Libras will love is tai chi. This ancient martial art is experiencing a comeback as people discover that it’s not just for old people in the park.

Scorpio (October 23-November 21)

Scorpio tends to have a lot of aggression to work out. That’s why kickboxing (or just plain ol’ boxing) is a good choice. If you don’t have the equipment at home, you can still go through the moves. Fire up a workout and get the blood pumping!

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)

Sagittarius loves the feeling of wind in their hair and sun on their skin. Going for a bike ride is a great way to get some cardio and fresh air. If that’s not an option, a stationary bike can also provide similar benefits.

Capricorn (December 22-January 19)

Capricorn loves spreadsheets and metrics. So it’s no surprise that weight training is a great workout for this ambitious Zodiac sign. Challenge yourself to do more weight or reps and keep track of your progress.

Aquarius (January 20-February 18)

Aquarians would rather get their exercise while doing something else. Gardening is a good choice, as is doing chores or just dancing around the house for the fun of it. This free-spirited sign might also go on a walk through nature.

Pisces (February 19-March 20)

Ideally, Pisces would hop in the nearest pool for a few laps or some water aerobics. If that’s not an option, then core work is a good choice. Exercises that promote core strength will help you stand tall and feel more powerful.
