Virgo’s Here, and It’s Time to Pull Out That Planner

While we’re still dealing with a New Moon hangover from last night, things are also starting to feel more grounded with the moon and Mercury both moving into analytical Virgo (and the sun following suit in a few days). It’s time to pull out that planner and plot out the rest of the year. Though, let’s be honest, 2020 is still gonna throw you for a loop.

The Moon is Conjunct Mercury at 1:38 AM

While most of us were sleeping (hopefully), the moon in Leo formed a conjunction with Mercury in Leo. This transit can bring out some feelings of increased sensitivity and make mood swings likely. It can cause us to feel overly sentimental and nostalgic, and it’s possible we revisited some bittersweet memories in our dreams. Our intuition and psychic abilities are sharpened under this placement, but our judgment could be clouded by emotional attachment.

It would be good to channel these intense energies into art—specifically writing or speaking. Communication is the key, and it could be a chance to get some things off your chest. Spend some time journaling today, and seek out the counsel (or just the ear) of a trusted woman in your family or circle to help you talk through things.

The Moon Moves into Virgo at 4:19 AM

When the moon is in the sign of analytical Virgo, we tend to be more productive, health conscious, and critical. It’s a great time to focus on the more mundane and menial tasks that need attention, as our focus and memory are razor sharp, and we don’t mind getting into the nit picky stuff. We may be craving things like puzzles, mental exercises, games, and reading.

Take this time to do some organizing, deep cleaning, or Marie Kondo-ing of your home. We can buckle down in a zen-like state and do some serious detailed work if it means that we’ll see tangible results. Gardening could also be a great productive pastime, as could catching up on chores.

Our conversations and thoughts can turn toward the critical, and we might focus on finding fault in ourselves and others. Self improvement is likely to be at the forefront of our minds, and it would be a good time to evaluate your daily habits and routines, making adjustments to your diet and exercise.

Mercury Moves into Virgo at 9:27 PM

Tonight, our messenger Planet, Mercury, moves into its native sign of Virgo. After some time spent in flamboyant Leo, our thoughts and words turn toward the precise and pragmatic. Virgo is analytical, productive, and can sharply cut through any ambiguity. You may find yourself drawn to detail-oriented work like research, fact-finding, organizing, or planning.

There are a great deal of strengths that Virgo can lend to our communication. But we may very well find ourselves bogged down by details and waylaid by perfectionism. Just make sure you focus on the forest as a whole to avoid getting lost among the trees. It’s also a good idea to watch your tone. This transit can cause us to sound overly critical, harsh, and unfeeling, even if we don’t realize it.

The Moon is Trine Uranus at 9:57 PM

A bit later, the moon in Virgo forms a trine angle with Uranus in Taurus. This transit can bring change and excitement to your private life, but without all of the chaos. You could feel a little antsy, like something big is in the air. Trust your gut. Your intuition is on point, and if you stay flexible and go with the flow, great things could happen.

You might work up the courage to break the ice with a new friend or possible lover, and you may find yourself attracted to those outside of your normal “type.” Just keep in mind that this energy is more impulsive and playful than commitment-minded. Get out there and try something new, whether in a social situation or in another activity.

This could be a great time to focus on breaking bad habits, or breaking out of relationships that have run their course. Emotional breakthroughs might show up tonight. Stay open minded and pay attention.
