We had some pretty intense planetary shifts overnight. Ones that can mean big things for our relationships with others—and ourselves—over the next several weeks. There’s a lot of ground to cover, so let’s dive right in.
Mars Moves into Pisces at 12:07 AM
Mars, a man of action and ambition, moved into dreamy Pisces a bit after midnight. This isn’t a very natural or comfortable position for him; he tends to get a bit frustrated and impatient by Pisces’ lack of forward movement.
After the assertiveness and GO-GO-GO of the past few months, this change of pace might make us feel out of sorts for a bit. It can, however, open up an opportunity for healing and introspection. It might even be a brief window of calm before Mars moves into fiery Aries, the sign he rules and is most comfortable in, on June 27.
The Moon is Square Uranus at 2:02 AM
The moon in independent Aquarius formed a square with Uranus in earthy Taurus at 2:02 this morning. This position can be challenging, and bring about rapid mood swings and impulsive actions. We might be feeling a bit jumpy and impatient, and have a hard time focusing on important things today. We’re also rife to rebel against anyone and anything we feel is forcing our hand in a situation.
Your intuition might be a bit clouded today. Try to avoid making snap decisions or sudden changes, especially when it comes to your close relationships. Also be aware of the impulse to lash out at those closest to you.
The Moon is Sextile Chiron at 2:32 AM
When the moon (Aquarius) is sextile Chiron (Aries), some seriously intense shifts can occur. Chiron is the wounded healer archetype—the magical wound who never quite heals itself but brings healing to others. The moon is our emotions, our memories, and our family connections—especially to our mothers.
This transit can arouse a hypersensitivity to not only your own feelings but of those around you. You might also be hit by a sudden and intense bout of nostalgia. Some of these memories might be pleasant, but some might be brought to our attention as a catalyst for healing. Pay close attention.
Venus Goes Retrograde at 2:35 AM
Venus, in the sign of curious and playful Gemini, is now retrograde and will be until June 25th. This retrograde only happens about once every two years, but its effects are quite intense. It can bring about some extra friction in our love lives.
Gemini likes to experience new things. Its archetype is the dilettante—someone with insatiable curiosity and an aversion toward commitment. We might be interested in absorbing knowledge on lots of things from many different sources, like overloading ourselves with online courses. Or we could be interested in seeking stimulation from lots of new situations or people.
Gemini might bring out a desire for freedom over the next month or so. If you’re in a committed relationship, you may need to put in extra time and effort to communicate effectively with your partner.
Airy Gemini is also a very heady sign, and can cause us to overthink about the past, present, and future without actually living in the moment.
Just keep in mind that although this retrograde is powerful, it’s not all negative. It can give us a chance to rethink and re-access our closest relationships—including our relationships with ourselves—that could ultimately lead to growth.
