Fitness Tips for Every Sign of the Zodiac

If you’ve tried exercising and struggled to develop a routine–it might be because you chose the wrong type of exercise. Let the stars guide you to a fitness routine that suits your personality, energy flow and lifestyle.

Aries (March 21-April 19) 

Finding ways to exercise isn’t too tough for Aries. This Fire sign has a lot of energy and tends to enjoy sports and physical activity. One of the best ways for Aries stick with a fitness routine is to join a league or group that plays a regular game–whether it’s football, tennis, or Ultimate.

Taurus (April 20-May 20) 

Taurus has fairly healthy habits already, but with your tendency to enjoy rich foods, it’s not a bad idea to develop an exercise routine. The best choices for the Earth sign are outdoors–hiking, mountain biking or gardening (yes, it’s exercise).

Gemini (May 21-June 20) 

Gemini needs variety to stay interested long enough to develop a habit. A challenging program that’s different every day is more likely to work for Gemini, so Crossfit is a great choice.

Cancer (June 21-July 22) 

Cancer doesn’t always get a lot of time to themselves, so a flexible workout you can do anywhere, anytime is the best option. Bodyweight exercises can be done literally anywhere and for free–think squats, push-ups, sit-ups, and planks.

Leo (July 23-August 22) 

Exercise shouldn’t be boring. Leo gets energized by being around people, so a class is a better choice if possible. A fun, high-energy cardio program like Zumba is perfect. Even if you can’t get out to the gym, you can do a routine on YouTube.

Virgo (August 23-September 22) 

Virgos all need a little extra chill in their lives. Schedule in a regular tai chi session to restore balance and focus your energy. It’s a little less trendy than yoga and can be a surprisingly challenging form of exercise.

Libra (September 23-October 22) 

Libra thrives on balance. Yoga is the best way for you to find your center while enjoying some gentle exercise. If you’re too shy to take an in-person class, you can find countless videos online.

Scorpio (October 23-November 21) 

Scorpio is a Water sign–and, if we’re being honest, kind of a lone wolf at heart. Taking a class at the gym isn’t your thing. But swimming laps is a way to get fit and relax your mind at the same time.

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21) 

Put on some barefoot-style running shoes and get out there, Sagittarius. Running, jogging, or walking (depending on your fitness level) is the perfect way to get some fresh air, crank up your favorite tunes, and develop a healthy fitness routine.

Capricorn (December 23-January 20) 

Capricorn needs to be challenged–and if there are stats involved, all the better. Lifting weights is a great way to get fit, and you can seek out your personal best as you build muscle.

Aquarius (January 20-February 18) 

I’ve got one word for you Aquarius: Aerial. Traditional exercise isn’t your style, but there are plenty of alternatives out there. Have you ever tried aerial fitness? It involves a combination of dance and acrobatics that you might love!

Pisces (February 19-March 20) 

As the ultimate Water sign, Pisces does great in the pool. Water aerobics is the favorite exercise of elderly ladies, but it’s surprisingly fun and as challenging as you want it to be. You can also find aqua dance classes at some gyms.
