My Sign Says

Which Flower Represents Your Zodiac Sign?

Flowers have carried symbolic weight since the beginning of recorded human history. From the lotus of Egypt to the chrysanthemum of Japan, flowers speak to us on a primal level. If you’re planning a garden or choosing a bouquet, these are the flowers that resonate with each sign of the Zodiac.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Red roses, red tulips–in fact, most red flowers will tickle Aries’ fancy. They also like unusual, challenging plants such as prickly pear cactus, which has spiky yellow or red blooms.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Taurus prefers calming, sweet-scented, delicate flowers like lavender and lilac. They also feel harmony with lily of the valley and apple blossom.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

This Air sign might not have a natural green thumb, but they love the variety of scents and colors and shapes that nature provides. A mixed bouquet of bold, complex blooms like ranunculus and unusual greenery will appeal.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Delicate, old-fashioned wildflowers are the way to Cancer’s heart. Think cornflower, Queen Anne’s lace, and bachelor’s buttons.

Leo (July 23-August 22)

Obviously, Leo is going to love sunflowers. This sign’s ruling celestial body is the Sun, and Leo feels a strong affinity for sunflowers. They also like big, showy dahlias in a rainbow of colors.

Virgo (August 23-September 22)

Virgo enjoys flowers that have practical or medicinal purposes as well. St John’s wort, thistle and chamomile might not be traditional bouquet flowers, but Virgo appreciates their humble but useful nature.

Libra (September 23-October 22)

Libra tends to like tall, dramatic spikes and cascades of flowers. Think gladiolus, foxglove, wild roses and petunias. The more, the better!

Scorpio (October 23-November 21)

Scorpio is fascinated by carnivorous plants like Venus fly traps, but you’d hardly put one of those in a bouquet. Good thing they also feel an affinity for peonies.

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)

Sagittarius is something of a rambler, and they appreciate free-spirited flowers, too. Blackberry, wisteria and climbing roses are all great choices.

Capricorn (December 23-January 20)

Capricorn likes small, sensible flowers like African violets or pansies. They might not be the biggest, flashiest flowers, but they’re reliable.

Aquarius (January 20-February 18)

Gerber daisies are perfect for Aquarius, but they also find the bold simplicity of poppies to be very appealing. Aquarius strongly prefers living plants (or even seeds for the garden) over a cut bouquet.

Pisces (February 19-March 20)

For Pisces, plants that grow in water will feel like kindred spirits. Water lilies and lotuses are especially appealing to this Water sign.
