Every week, astrologer Andromeda Davis finds answers to your most important questions. Love, money, success-it’s all written in the stars!
Dear Andie:
I’ve been reading about the Zodiac and my horoscope, but it just doesn’t seem to fit me. I’m a Capricorn, so I guess I’m supposed to be really ambitious and practical and hardworking.
That stuff doesn’t always click with me, though. I think of myself as more laid back and fun. Plus a lot of the daily horoscopes I read don’t seem to have anything to do with my life. Am I doing this wrong?
Sincerely,
A Confused Capricorn
Dear Confused:
Thank you for being vulnerable in bringing this question to me. It takes a lot of courage to admit that your Sun sign doesn’t resonate with you. The good news is that there’s nothing wrong with you! There are a few reasons why you might not be in alignment with your Sun sign.
Have you looked at your entire natal chart? It includes your rising, or ascendant, sign. That might feel like a much better fit for you, as it describes the way we see ourselves and the face we want to show the world. It’s based on the Zodiac sign that was rising at the exact moment of your birth.
Your Moon sign can also shed some light (no pun intended) on your complete horoscope. The Moon is quite a bit more mysterious than the Sun, and understanding this sign can help you explore your subconscious and hidden thoughts better. People who are strongly introverted often find themselves identifying more with their Moon sign.
Finally, it’s possible that, depending on the date of your birth, you might be on the cusp of either Sagittarius or Aquarius. If that’s the case, you might be drawn to one of those signs–based on what you described, I’d bet you were born close to the cusp of Sagittarius.
Love and Light,
Andie
Beware of Oversimplification
While it’s easy to reduce every Zodiac sign to a simple list of adjectives, they are much more complex than that. It’s important to dig deep into the lore of your sign to understand all of its facets and how they relate to you.
As you delve into the study of your Sun, Moon, and ascendant signs, you may find that your relationship to them changes over time. You might have fallen into negative patterns associated with a Zodiac sign at one point in your life, but you have since healed from that negativity.
That’s wonderful, and it doesn’t mean that you’re no longer a “real” Capricorn or Taurus or what have you. It just means that you’ve evolved.
